Why Locals Love Stone Arch
Nestled within the hustle and bustle of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, Stone Arch stands out as a remarkable American restaurant, cocktail bar, gastropub, and hamburger haven that redefines what airport dining can be. This inviting spot expertly blends craft culinary flair with a dynamic bar scene, making it an ideal stop whether you’re grabbing a quick bite before a flight or settling in for a leisurely meal.
Stone Arch’s menu is a celebration of American comfort food elevated through thoughtful ingredients and masterful preparation. Their famous Grilled Wings pack a flavorful punch that pairs beautifully with their award-winning Blonde Ale “PROVIDER” from Steel Toe Brewing—a golden, silky-smooth beer laced with delicate hops and a lightly sweet finish. For hop aficionados, the hazy, juicy “FALSE PATTERN” Hazy Pale Ale or the grapefruit-infused “BENT HOP” IPA on Nitro offer vibrant, refreshing options that enliven the palate with citrus and floral notes.
But it’s not just the beverages that impress. Diners rave about the heartwarming meatloaf served alongside fresh green beans and fluffy mashed potatoes—comfort food that rivals cherished standalone restaurants. The Walleye Sandwich, a nod to Minnesota’s culinary heritage, is crafted with fresh, flaky fish that delivers a deliciously satisfying bite. And if there’s room left, Stone Arch’s velvety cheesecake provides a rich and luscious finale to the meal.
The atmosphere is a harmonious blend of a lively sports bar and a modern brewery, enhanced by a warm and attentive service team that makes you feel like a welcomed guest rather than just another traveler. With seating that overlooks the airport thoroughfare, guests can indulge in people watching while savoring their food and drinks, creating a dining experience that transcends the ordinary airport stopover.
What truly captivates is the personal touch—Whitney, the manager, and Tom, a notable ambassador of the restaurant, are often lauded by patrons for their exceptional hospitality. Such genuine care makes each visit feel special, turning a quick meal into a memorable occasion.
Even if you’re not there on a long layover, Stone Arch beckons as a culinary destination within the airport that surprises and delights at every turn. Whether it’s the robust malt-driven ales, the crisp and juicy hops, or the thoughtfully prepared, classic dishes, this gem of St. Paul offers an oasis where flavor and atmosphere combine to create an unforgettable dining experience.

For an airport bar and restaurant, this is really a 5-star. Most places have just basic quick food options and not that well prepared, but the Stone Arch blows that all away. I found the meatloaf as good or better than most standalone restaraunts. Fresh green beans and real mashed potatoes! I made it through the starter salad, meatloaf meal and still stuffed in a very delicious piece of cheesecake. Staff is very friendly and many have worked here for years, so a testament to the quality of the establishment. I did not partake in the multiple beer choices, but the guy next to me had a beer flight that looked really good. I fly frequently through MSP, so will be stopping by here again on my next layover. Highly recommend.

Stone Arch is definitely the place to be at MSP Airport. I ordered the Walleye Sandwich, one of their “’Sota Original” items, and it was absolutely delicious. The manager on duty, Whitney, even stopped by to check on us and make sure everything was going well. What a nice personal touch. Great food and great service!

This was one heck of an airport restaurant. Best one I've ever been to, hands down. Ambiance was very cool. It was part sports bar, part brewery. The portion of it we were seated at was right by the passenger thoroughfare, so we got to people watch like nobody's business. I loved it. Service was awesome. The server seems to understand the scenario. People wanting to watch some sports while watching their flights getting further and further delayed. Thanks to Delta, I think we were there for like, four hours. Oy vey. Very nice guy. He tended to our every need and we didn't feel rushed one bit. As for the food, it really surprised me with how good it was. I had the Grilled Chicken Wings (Chipotle-lime sauce or coffee-chili dry rub and served with your choice of house ranch or blue cheese dressing). These were full wings that fried to a crispy perfection and got to retain that crispiness, because they weren't tossed in sauce afterwards, they were dry rubbed with that slightly bitter, slightly spicy, entirely interesting and delicious dry rub. Crispy, meaty, juicy. What else could you ask for? Oh, a side of that chipotle-lime sauce, because the server suggested you try it, too. Very good. I also got to try the Roasted Squash (Roasted squash stuffed with our wild rice blend, kale, parmesan, mushrooms and onions, topped with cranberries and maple pepitas. Served with a side of roasted Brussels sprouts). This was an absolute smash. The squash was roasted to a fork-tender perfection, and the sugars within were really accentuated to a nice sweetness. Pops of additional sweetness from the cranberries with the umami mushrooms and the texture of the pepitas make this one of the best vegetarian dishes I've legit ever had in my life. Couldn't find a dessert list, but it looks like I had a nice slice of cheesecake to finish things off. I remember it was delicious. A nice little sweet to get me ready for a nap on the plane. A side note, this place had one of the better drink programs I've seen in a very long time. Not only did they have completely customizable beer flights with a wide array of beer styles, not just blah IPAs, but they also had awesome NA options, including a beer that was brewed never containing alcohol in the first place, so the taste is the taste and not the product of alcohol removal. Pretty interesting. Overall, this was an excellent experience. One of the places that I wish I could award a sixth star for just how above and beyond they are. If I ever fly into or out of Minnesota again, I will certainly patron this place again.

This been through this airport so many times, but I've never actually stopped here. The staff is super friendly, fun, and quick to make sure all the customers we're taken care of while still making each one of us feel like we're the center of their attention. The grilled cheese and tomato soup really hit for me as I wasn't feeling great, and the sprouts were pretty tasty too with all that bacon. Looking forward to stopping in here again when I'm not rushing to catch a connecting flight.

Tom treated us like special guests. He was a true ambassador to Stone Arch. This is a pleasant oasis inside MSP. You really forget you’re in an airport. Pleasant and good food. Try it out it’s worth the stop. And ask for Tom.

I arrived early to my flight (like 5 hours early) and I walked the airport in search of something unique. I found it on the menu by the name of "Cheese curds." This fairy tale, mid-west delicacy echoed in my mind as I recalled leaving LAX just a few days earlier: A nameless, faceless Minnesota local voice said "you HAVE to try them," he said in the almost too-friendly, almost embarrassing tone. I journeyed from Cheese curds to a Headflyer IPA, to a burger to another Headflyer: It was like a day a the man-spa or at the man-cade. The young but mature server (please remind me of your name) has been working there for over 20 years! Hey, does your employer throw in lunches as a benefit? I might be interested! I hope to be back sooner than a year from now. Muy pronto mi reseña en español. 下次來看我的中文評介

Great service, clean and very nice atmosphere with very nice people working for them. Samantha is absolute Doll made sure to go out of her way to make sure we were happy with everything!! Such a cool person and character I highly recommend this spot when you want to get good food and drink before your flight. If I could leave ten stars I would but 5 is max on here! She is a STAR!!

Very cool restaurant and bar that steers away from the plain and boring low key airport restaurant. Stone Arch would sit well outside the airport but breathes life into an overpriced and underwhelming airport food option. Solid craft drinks, a great Bloody Mary that you'll want to take a picture of, and an open concept bar with a scratch kitchen. Great service and great food without feeling the ripoff of normally priced airport mosh. Highly recommend the dry rub wings (you get one with your Bloody Mary) or the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup. Both fantastic.
